Series

In the Silent Contemplation project, I write on a variety of subjects. Some topics have multiple articles, which gradually develop into a series. If we look at topics with multiple writings, there were several on WhatsApp and Google Gemini, yet those did not evolve into a proper series.

A detailed painting in the combined style of Studio Ghibli and Vincent van Gogh. The image shows a turbulent, dark blue sea with large, cresting waves rendered with thick, swirling brushstrokes. The sky above is a dramatic, chaotic spectacle reminiscent of The Starry Night, filled with swirling patterns of bright yellow and white stars against a deep blue background. A glowing moon hangs in the top right, while a distant light, possibly from a lighthouse, shines on the horizon. In the foreground, a small, solitary wooden boat with a single figure bobs on the waves, silhouetted against the powerful scene. The overall effect is a harmonious blend of Ghibli's whimsical, flowing lines and Van Gogh's energetic, textured style, creating a sense of dramatic beauty and quiet wonder.

The first carefully planned series in this project, "Swapna Dutta, My Mother", began publishing on 1 August 2025, four days after my Mother passed away. During this period, I released one piece after another as chapters and felt the need to organise them in a template, structured like a series. These writings were spontaneous; I spent many hours meticulously crafting each piece. Truthfully, the quality of this series significantly elevated the overall standard of the project. It was also during this time that I first began publishing my writings in both English and Bengali.

By mid-August, I started writing on the topic of Japa. Since the "Swapna Dutta, My Mother" series had raised the project's overall standard, I continued publishing Japa writings in a similar bilingual series format.

🌹 Swapna Dutta, My Mother

A recollection of memories about my Mother. Immediately after her death, I was deeply shaken. Writing these pieces was my first attempt to emerge from that despair. I did not want to write a chronological biography; instead, I tried to align the writings with the broader human experience.

đŸ•¯️ Japa

Japa, or the chanting of names, is undeniably an essential part of spiritual practice. The purpose of these writings is not to gather every known or unknown detail about Japa. Rather, I organise and present whatever I understand, feel, and practise — or at least whatever I can confidently write about — along with relevant information and references.
