Silent Contemplation is a project that is being started in June 2024. The URL https://www.silentcontemplation.com/ remains as the primary world wide web address of the project.
The main idea of the project is "silent contemplation" of various things around, possibly followed by some writings or documentation in the future. This project may have sub-projects or spin offs in the future, depending on how the main project goes ahead. The project, hopefully, will explore multiple (presentation) formats gradually.
This might be speculated from the project/website name, however, no, religion or philosophy, most possibly, won't be the primary theme of the project. Here, the word "primary theme" is important. there might be philosophy or religion-based writing, but that won't be the primary or only identity.The Thinker, a bronze sculpture by Auguste Rodin (pictured), is definitely an inspiration for the project. However, the project (alonwith the exercise) will most possibly work on the contemplation aspect of thinking, than anything else.
Initially, one idea was to name the project "Contomplation" (actually "ContOMplation), covering the word/sound Om, a sacred in Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism. However, this was decided not to misspell an English word. This is also to be noted, as mentioned above, the project won't be primarily a religious one. So, the idea was dropped.
The project could also be named "Contemplation", without the word "Silent". For two reasons this was not done, 1) that could possibly be generic, 2) for domain name and other metawork purpose, the name "Contemplation" was not feasible.
At the same time of starting the project (June 2024), an X handle account, and a YouTube account were developed. A Google (Gmail) account was not opened, as the username was not available, and a custom domain was setup with email facility. No Meta (Facebook) account was created.
Reader, (Hello), possibly, here you are thinking way too far, without actually telling the plan, that what is going to come out from this. Well, actually this was told in brief ahead that this is a "silent contemplation" of various things around, possibly followed by some writings or documentation. So, there might be writings on society, governance, tech, politics, artificial intelligence. Yes, this is possibly not a good idea to include way too many areas and subjects in one website. Agreed on this. Let's see, how things progress in the future. An interesting point, possibly, Artificial Intelligence (AI) might be a subject to contemplate under this project. However, AI tool will not be used to create content on this project, as that won't be in alignment with the project's aim.
The primary source for images needed for this project will be Wikimedia Commons, and the source will be clearly mentioned with each usage.
That's the initial post for now. There might be updates and edits in this post in the future, as things progress. There could also be separate meta work documentation.
